On Carl Fisch’s “The Fischbowl” he writes about Joel Burns’s speech on bullying. In his speech he talks about a bunch of recent suicides caused by bullying. He relates to this by telling how he was always bullied in middle school and high school for being a homosexual. He also says that he got through it by only listening to the people who helped and supported him. I think that it is horrible that anyone would find it funny to bully someone because they are different. Maybe this person will go on in life to do great things, and then the bully would have missed out on getting to know a great person. Even if this person doesn’t go on to do great things the bully still has no right to harass this person just because they are different or not “popular”. What does popular even mean? I think it’s just a way of rating people so someone is always better than someone else. This can really hurt someone’s self esteem, and this could be what drives student to suicides. Who is to tell you what you can and can’t do or who you can and can’t be. The single person should decide what’s important to them not their parents or peers. If everyone just tried to understand people than the world would be a much better place for everyone.

Mother Shoots Twins Before Turning Gun on Herself
The Denver Post's article on " A Mother Shooting Her Kids and Then Herself" shoked me for many reasons. First off it leaves me wondering why she would do this? I mean what was her perpose and who would this benifit? From reading this I have come to the conclusion that she killed her son because he was autistic. I still dont understand why she woul do this or why she would kill her daughter and then herself after! according to the denver post this is the 20th and 21st homocide in Colorado Springs this year! The bodys were found by the husband of the woman on monday at 3 30pm. That is all the information I could find.

Children more advanced
I read Will Richardson’s article on Footprints in the Digital Age featured in Educational Leadership and it hit me that children might be becoming more advanced than adults. In this article he says that the technology we have is always changing and that you could be and probably are being searched on Google at any given time. Also there are so many new ways of teaching that could only be imagined a decade ago. I think that Will Richardson is right in saying that kids are becoming more advanced in technology every day and eventually children might be running this world because they were born into this technology so that is all they know. Lastly I think that when he says that kids need be willing to learn that is true. That is my opinion on this article.
